Reclaim control : coping strategies for addiction’.

Target group: everyone! 

We are all addicted to something: be it our smart phones, unhealthy relationships, food, gambling or substances.  Despite technology providing more avenues for connection, we live in an increasingly disconnected, fast paced world where we expect instant gratification. 

The aim is to improve your understanding of addiction and facilitate connection. Workshops provide practical strategies to free us from the limiting effects of addiction.  The workshops discuss the theory underlying changing habits, and have a practical focus.

  • Introduces neuroplasticity: how the brain can change with practice. 
  • Includes a brief introduction to mindfulness. 
  • Yoga practice: no flexibility or experience required (can be on chair or mat)
  • Includes practice of breathing techniques and different types of meditation.
  • Time for optional sharing of personal experience in the group setting. 
  • Includes examples, worksheets with exercises to take-home, and optional homework. Optional follow-up phone call included. 

Please bring:  yourself!  A water bottle.  Snacks if you need them.
Wear comfortable clothing.
